Farmasi has no local operation in the United Arab Emirates. You enroll on the United States site and orders ship from the US warehouse.

This works differently from a market with its own Farmasi office. Because Farmasi does not operate locally in the United Arab Emirates, you enroll on the United States site, picking your country from the dropdown, and orders ship from the US warehouse. Signing up is the easy part. What actually decides whether the business works for you is what happens when the parcel reaches customs in the United Arab Emirates — so that is what this page covers, with the real numbers.

This is the step people skip, and it is the one that matters. In the "Register for" selector at the top of the form, find your option and select it. Leave it on the United States and the form will ask you for details you do not have.

Customs and taxes when your order lands in the United Arab Emirates

The UAE de minimis is AED 300 per consignment, for courier parcels up to 70 kg — cut down from roughly AED 970 at the start of 2023, so older guidance you find online will be wrong. Above that, standard customs duty of 5% of CIF and VAT of 5% apply.

Paying in US dollars from the United Arab Emirates

Paying a US site by card is routine and there are no meaningful restrictions to plan around.

Product rules and registration

This is the requirement that catches people out. ECAS conformity certification is mandatory for cosmetics, perfumery and personal care products placed on the UAE market, and an ECAS Certificate of Conformity from an approved notified body is required for customs clearance, valid for a year and renewed annually. Shipments arriving without one can be rejected, penalised or returned to origin. Dubai additionally runs product registration through Dubai Municipality.

VAT registration is mandatory at AED 375,000 of taxable supplies and imports over twelve months, and voluntary from AED 187,500.

That depends on what the form asks once you select your country. Check before you pay — plenty of people enroll without changing the dropdown and then find themselves asked for US details.

What if Farmasi opens an office in the United Arab Emirates?

Farmasi has been opening new markets steadily. If it opens in the United Arab Emirates, ask entrepreneur support how that affects your account rather than assuming the migration is automatic.
